My 'older' sis...

Okay, here I go.  My blonde, blue-eyed sister, who remembers more about me as a youngster than I do about her, because she was 4 years older and she didn't like me!...because she often had to 'babysit' me while Mom napped.  Gee, sis, I would have paid you.
I was also the 'middle' child who just wanted a peaceful existance and no confrontations.
Now we'll skip forward to the year she left for UNB.  Yippee!!!!!!!!  I no longer had to share a bedroom.  I took over hers!!!  It was so nice of you to leave, sis.
Skip forward to 1966.  I was 16 and she was 20.  I lived with her and a couple of other gals in Niagara Falls while Mom, Dad and Serita packed to move to Burlington.  Ah, I think I was mature.  Where did that bench come from?  But, in hindsight, it really was nice of you to let me stay there!

Over the years we always stayed in touch, but we were never really close, yet we were.  Her advice was so appreciated when I had miscarriages.  She was there when Danielle was born, as my nurse, though she had already worked her full shift.  Oh, that was so nice - not everyone can say that!

And so supportive before, during, and after my divorce.  My saviour.  Just a really lousy time in my life.

Somewhere along the way we became friends.  Really great, supportive friends to each other.  Our trips are the best and our sing-a-longs compare to no others.  We try to stay healthy so we can keep on having  holidays.  We do have a great time! N.S., Florida, B.C., Paris, Quebec City and I hope she can come to San Fran with me to visit Danielle.

Now she's 64 and I'm 60.  Really????  We don't look it!  Where have the years gone?  I'm lucky...not everyone has a big sis as great as mine!    Then and Now:
