A long winter - behind us!

We made it through a long, cold winter and sunless, rainy spring.  Today is beautiful and the second day I've sat outside with my laptop.  Lazy and I love it.
Enjoy the robin fledgling's first flight - taken by Bear - who had the patience to take these, and of course, some flowers from my garden.

A long winter...

Gone south...

It's been a long winter.  Chrstmas has come and gone.  Judy and Dave are in Florida for 2 months.  Danielle and Roger are in Asia for 3 months.  Coats, boots, scarves, gloves and cold dog walks get to me at this time of year.  But, Spring will soon be here!  Soon we will be walking the beach...

8 reasons why I bought a white coat...

-I've always wanted a white coat. -This particular style makes me look slim.
-It's the colour of fresh snow.
-Any colour scarf will do.
-I'm an adult and should be able to stay clean.
-I'll stay away from mud puddles and dirty cars.
-I'm 60 years old.  If I don't get one now, I never will.
-Best of all,  the price was right!

If the Trans Siberian Orchestra is doing a Christmas concert near you, try to get tickets.  They are fantastic!

Erin Brockovich came to town...

Yes, the real Erin Brockovich came to Oakville to support our Citizens for Clean Air group. 
A few days later, the Energy Minister announced that we no longer need the new power plant.  It  seems the demand for more energy is no longer what it was.  Hmmm....

Today was one of those sunny, warm, fall days.  This was probably our last Sangria by the lake.

Trans Siberian Orchestra

Another great concert was the Trans Siberian Orchestra.  They go on tour every Xmas.  This is a concert worth seeing every year.  I posted one of their songs on the side - #6 Christmas Eve Sarajevo.

Can't live without music...

My itunes list is getting longer and longer.  Every type of music.  Classical, Latin, new age, rock and on & on.  Yanni Voices is one of my favourites.  I've always loved his music and concerts,especially at the Acropolis and Taj Mahal.    Couldn't imagine his music with words  Now I think I prefer it!

Wood Mouse

The other evening, around 10 pm, as I entered our dark kitchen, I saw a reflection of something sitting in my bird feeder.  As I got close to the window it didn't move.  It was a(cute?) little mouse, with very large ears.  It didn't even move when I took flash pics.  Too busy eating all the seeds!

Montreal or Paris?

I love Old Montreal.  Last Saturday I spent all day downtown with Terr's niece, Lauren.
A lovely day, but Paris it's not!!!

Sangrias

Judy, Diana and I have started a great new tradition.  Over the summer we have tried to meet weekly at Emma's Back Porch, before noon, to get a table by the lake.  Then we order our Sangria and veggie appetizer.  Today was our fifth time!  We hope for at least one more time outside, then we'll hunt for a cozy winter place to ease our way into the cold winter.
