The real dirt...

According to Saturday's Star, Prince Charles talks to his plants.  But don't we all?  Master gardener Sonia Day is starting a weekly column called The real dirt.  This week's hint - twice a day gently brush or stroke your seedlings with your hand and they will grow larger and sturdier.  So this morning I did just that, so time will tell. This is Thigmomorphogenesis - mechanical stimulation of plants.  So get out there and start brushing, stroking or caressing.
